MEET ANGELA

Let's not be strangers!

I'm Angela. I'm married have two beautiful children! When not working, I most enjoy spending time with my family, taking trips to parks and museums, building duplo towers and  sewing superhero capes!

HOW IT STARTED

I started out organizing and sewing at 3 years old when I “played shopping at the sewing store.” My mom was sewing and I'd come to her "shop" for sewing notions and such. But the mix of items didn't make logical sense, so I'd empty out the messy sewing desk drawers, group like items, sort the threads in a color order and put everything back into the drawers.

Yes, this is a true story.

As a child I’d make pillows, and clothes for stuffed animals. By my teens, I was learning basic draping/pattern drafting by creating clothes for my American Girl Dolls. Around this time is when I also got into organization! I would reorganize my friends' rooms, or the files on my family’s computer.

After high school I pursued the trade of sewing & costuming - which turned into a small business, making dance costumes and reproduction 19th-20th centuries women’s clothing (think Jane Austen or Downtown Abbey). In 2007, I opened Fashion It Sewing, a studio for girls to learn sewing, fashion, and costume design. Year after year, the sewing clients and parents of students would enter the sewing studio and be in awe of the layout and organization of the space; many asked if I would come do their home, ha!

I phased out the sewing studio and eventually the seamstress work as well to focus on earning a BA in American Studies and MPA in Public Administration from West Chester University.

After graduation I spent a few years working in a mix of for profit and nonprofit sectors in administrative, tech, program, and operations roles... only to return to the small business world when I started Master Key Organizing. Most recently, I’ve served Glorify Performing Arts as a founding Board Member and now as their Director of Engagement.

Now, I'm back to teaching what I love.
